Please note that the escorted part of this package begins when the group departs Mexico. Services on the first two days are provided by a local host representative. This program is operated by Goway Tours using their local representative company in Mexico.

You may purchase this tour on a land only basis. The land only cost is approximately $1579 depending on departure. Land only participants do not receive the Round trip airport transfers which may be purchased at additional charge.

New York- Mexico City

Departure from JFK International Airport for your flight to Mexico City. Beverages and snacks will be served in flight. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred by shared van to your hotel, CASABLANCA HOTEL, MEXICO CITY. The hotel is conveniently located in the financial and cultural district of Mexico City. It is just steps away from the Reforma Avenue and a 10 minute walk to the Zocalo Square and the famous Cathedral.

TEOTIHUACAN AND SHRINE OF GUADALUPE TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00A.M. your coach will pick you up at your hotel.

Depart for Teotihuacan ("The Place of the Gods") 53 km from Mexico City, about one hour's ride. Visit to the archaeological area that was the seat of the Teotihuacan culture. Visit the Quetzalcoati Temple, the Pyramid of the Sun, the Quetzalpapoloti Temple, the Temple of the Feathered Snails and the Pyramid of the Moon from where the Avenue of the Dead can be seen.

You then head to the Shrine of Guadalupe and the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, where three epochs of Mexico are represented ( pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern.) Visit the new Basilica where the original image of Mexico's Patron Saint is found.

The temple was built in 1976 by the architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. The first temple, built at the top of the Cerro del Tepeyac (mount) in the XVI century and the old Basilica dating from the XVIII, can be admired from the great atrium. Every December 12th, hundreds of thousands of Mexicans come to this place in a pilgrimage to worship the Virgin.

You will return to your hotel at approximately 1:00P.M.

MEXICO CITY, QUERETARO-SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Early departure to Queretaro, 211 km from Mexico City, Capital of the state of Queretaro and of major importance during the wars of independence. City visit followed by a 1 hour drive to San Miguel de Allende. Explore this colonial city with its beautiful mansions and its symbol-the Gothic style cathedral. Accommodations at the hotel Real Minas or similar.

The hotel Real Minas in situated in the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende, overlooking the valley. The hotel features sauna, fitness center and massage services. A spa and wellness center is available. The historic city of Virreinato is located only a short distance from the Hotel de Minas. Guests can discover beautiful architecture, stunning temples and churches as well as Baroque style streets. The hotel is 850 meters from the San Miguel Arcangel Church and the History Museum.

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE-GUANAJUATO

Morning departure to Dolores Hidalgo ans proceed to Guanajuato, an hours drive away. City visit. Admire the Basilica, the University, the picturesque hisotic center with its narrow colonial roads, the underground streets which were formed riverbeds, the famous Callejon del Beso, (the alley of the kiss)and enjoy a panoramic view from the El Piplia monument. Arrival and accommodations at the Mision Guanajuato or similar.

Depart for Zacatecas. Arrival and visit to the historical center and the Cathedral., one of the pearls of Mexican baroque architecture, built in rose stone during the 18th century. Visit the Plaza de Las Armas, the Cerro de la Bufa hill offering a fantastic panoramic view of the city, and the Mine of Eden. Accommodations at the hotel Empirio or similar.

Just steps from the Basilica Cathedral, stands the hotel Emperio Zacatecas with an eye catching Baroque facade. ZACATECAS-GUADALAJARA

In the morning enjoy a scenic 4.5 hour drive to Guadalajara, named for its beauty,"the pearl of the occident". Arrival and visit to the neighborhood of Tlaquepaque famous for manufacturing the finest handicrafts of the state. Arrival and visit the borough of San Pedro Tlaquepaque, once an independent village and now part of the city whose inhabitants are dedicated to glassblowing and a variety of arts and crafts. Here you can choose excellent souvenirs of your holiday in Mexico. Accommodations for the next two nights will be at the first class Hotel Morales or similar.

Centered in downtown Guadalajara, this historic hotel provides elegant accommodations, first class amenities and is only a short distance from many area attractions. The Hotel Morales places guests only minutes from a number of historic sites, cathedrals and more.

GUADALAJARA

Today you visit the historical center: the Teatro Degollado, the Palacio de Gobierno, the Cathedral, the Rotunda de los Hombres Ilustres monument and a panoramic visit of the Hospicio Cabanas.

Departure to the Tequila region home of the ancient and famous Mexican Alcoholic drink. At the Tequila village, enjoy a demonstration of the whole manufacturing process in one of the best Tequila distilleries. Return to Guadalajara and accommodation.

GUADALAJARA-PATZCUARO-MORELIA

Morning departure for Patzcuaro. En route, visit the ranch of Vicente Fernandez. (opening hours may vary). Continue to Patzcuaro and visit the House of the Eleven Patios, the Basilica of Nuestra Senora de la Salud, Gertrudis Bocanegra Library, with its murals painted by Juan O'Gorman and the typical market in the Don Vasco de Quirogra Plaza. In the afternoon, we travel by bus to Morelia, the gorgeous capital of the State of Michoacan. Accommodations at the Mision Cathedral hotel or similar.

The extension changes the airfare included in the Colonial Mexico program to now be NYC-MEX-CUN-NYC and adds round trip airport to hotel transfers from the airport in Cancun as well as Accommodations based on double room occupancy and complete all-inclusive program at hotel (meals, snacks, beverages, most entertainment and activities.
